What is a sauna house?
A sauna house is a freestanding cabin characterized by its rectangular box shape, while a barrel sauna, for example, is completely round. However, some cabins feature a curved back wall, making them a real eye-catcher in any garden. A major advantage of the sauna house is the generous space design: It can be up to 7 m long and offers seating for up to 12 people, depending on the model. Furthermore, almost all sauna houses in our range have a fully glazed front to provide you with an excellent view while saunaing.
From compact to particularly comfortable – the sauna houses in our range
Whether you have a small lawn or a large green space – we offer the right sauna house for every garden. You can choose from numerous different models in various sizes and designs, so there is surely something for every taste.
Models like Alvi, Liv and Bjorn are particularly suitable for small gardens due to their compact dimensions – less than 3 m in side length – without sacrificing comfort. While these saunas do not have a relaxation room, they can fit into small corners. Just make your living room or a heated conservatory your relaxation area! The model Cubik is similarly small but stands out with a particularly modern design. Like Alvi, Liv, and Bjorn, Cubik also features a floor-to-ceiling window through which you can enjoy the view.
Our Horizont series – versatile sauna cabins for every garden

Whether you want to experience pure wellness alone or with a group of up to 12 people: A sauna house from the Horizont series makes it possible. Each model is equipped with a fully glazed front that opens up the view of the surrounding panorama and can be customized to your personal preferences. What does a sauna house cost?
The price of sauna houses can vary. The most important factor is the size, as this also determines the extent of the equipment. Small sauna cabins with a width of just 1.64 m can be found in the mid-thousand range, while a sauna that is 7 m wide and accommodates up to 12 people is, of course, significantly more expensive. A large sauna usually also includes a relaxation room or a foyer with a shower, which also affects the costs. In our range, you will find sauna houses in various sizes, among which you are sure to find an appealing model. We are also happy to create custom designs including equipment of your choice – contact us now to purchase your dream sauna!
What should you consider when buying a sauna house?
To create a comfortable wellness oasis in your own garden, a sauna is simply a must. It offers you pure relaxation in a protected space, ensuring your privacy is maintained. However, before purchasing, you should consider a few aspects to find the ideal sauna house:
- Building permit: In some German federal states, you need a building permit for a garden sauna. The regulations often fall under the jurisdiction of local building authorities. Contact your municipality early to secure permission for setting up a sauna house.
- Location: Choose a suitable spot where you want to place your sauna house. There should be no plants growing directly around the sauna that could touch it. Additionally, depending on the federal state, there may be different regulations regarding minimum distances to property boundaries.
- Foundation: To ensure a secure stand and operation, you need a stable foundation for your sauna house. Often, concrete slabs are used here.
- Size: Choose a sauna house with external dimensions that fit your garden. We also offer saunas in very compact sizes, so you can enjoy saunaing even in a small garden.
- Quality: A sauna house is a costly investment – therefore, it should last as long as possible. We only use high-quality types of wood in production, specifically designed and impregnated for sauna operation.
- Equipment: The basic equipment includes the sauna room itself. In addition, you have the option to expand your sauna house with a relaxation room or a shower. We also offer additional extras such as a built-in radio, extra lighting, and emergency buttons.
What foundation is needed for a sauna house?
Every sauna house requires a load-bearing foundation to ensure it has a solid base on which it can stand stable and secure in the long term. Only with the right foundation is safety during sauna use guaranteed. Gravel, crushed stone, and mineral stone mixtures provide a good basis for a foundation, but are not sufficient on their own. In principle, you have the choice between different types of foundations – which one you should choose depends on the soil conditions of the chosen location and the weight of the sauna.
Especially for large saunas, a continuous concrete slab is usually the best solution because it is very robust, can carry the high weight of the sauna for a long time, and prevents dangerous sinking. Additionally, a concrete slab can protect your sauna house from frost and moisture from below, thus increasing the longevity of the sauna itself. For medium-sized sauna houses, a point or strip foundation is also conceivable. We are happy to advise you so that you can determine the ideal combination of sauna weight, soil conditions, and foundation.
